Entreprendre Bruxelles asbl ("the asbl" or "we") attaches great importance to the protection of the personal data of persons who visit this website ("site") or use our products and services ("users").

You provide us with personal data by browsing this site and as a recipient of our communications and, possibly, other products and services we offer. In this context, we strive to give you as much control as possible over your personal data. At the same time, we are committed to managing and using your personal data securely, respectfully and in good faith in order to serve you better while providing you with the best possible experience on this site.

This policy provides information about the data the asbl collects and how it uses them, as well as how you can exercise your rights as a data subject.

This privacy policy applies to all our users (current, former and future) of our products and services as well as to all visitors to this site.

The asbl is responsible for processing your data and is obliged to implement your rights relating to the protection of your personal data in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework. 3. What types of data do we process and why?

Data types

We mainly collect and process data that you enter yourself via the various pages of our website(s) to access our newsletter.

Nevertheless, the various suppliers of products and services accessible via our site(s) are responsible for obtaining and managing your specific consent in relation to the use of their products/services.

In particular, we collect some or all of the following data:

Goals

The not-for-profit association processes data for various purposes, in each case processing only the data necessary to achieve the intended objective.

In particular, we use personal data, subject to consent, insofar as this is necessary, in order to :

  • give you access to our newsletters published on our site: in this case, we will need your e-mail address to send you the newsletters.

  • to provide you with access to, and information about, the various products and services offered on the Piétonnier: for example, restaurant addresses, organized events and leisure activities, shopping proposals and other activities or leisure activities.

  • to comply with legal or regulatory requirements to which we are subject: for example, in the context of tax and accounting obligations, or if we are required to pass on information to third parties, such as public authorities or services, such as the police.

  • to serve a legitimate interest in keeping you informed, improving our services, preserving the security of the site and the information you transmit to us, understanding your needs and requirements that you address to us via this site. To this end, your data may be processed as part of a market survey, request for evaluation of our products or services or feedback, fraud prevention, internal administration management or control of appropriate network and information security or quality assurance on the site. When we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest, we do so in a way that best protects your interests and rights under the applicable regulations.

  • to carry out studies, tests and statistics: for example, to analyze trends. In this respect, we use anonymized and aggregated data to, among other things, draw up internal and external reports on the use of our services, evaluate the current portfolio of products and services and the need to adapt them to new developments. As the data used for this purpose is anonymized, it is no longer possible to identify the persons concerned.

4. How do we protect your data? 

The asbl takes appropriate organizational and technical measures to secure this data both in its physical offices and on its network.

Our employees and freelancers are trained to handle confidential data in a proportionate manner and in accordance with the purposes for which it is to be processed. Thus, the number of asbl employees with access to your data is strictly defined and limited according to what they need to perform their tasks correctly.

Security and data protection assessments are carried out for sensitive projects that would expose data to higher risks. The company also employs specialized staff to ensure the security of its network, infrastructure and information systems.

In addition, the association uses various technical measures to protect personal data, such as: restricted access using passwords, hard disk encryption software, firewalls, anti-virus and intrusion and anomaly detection systems, access control for staff in the building and secure areas.

In the event of a data leak or other security incident that could infect your data, we will contact you with the necessary information and in the manner required by law.

The existence and content of communications passing through the asbl network (e.g. e-mail traffic, hosting, etc.) are protected by the provisions relating to the secrecy of electronic communications. This means that the asbl and its employees cannot become aware of the existence or content of these communications outside the exceptions listed by law.

Our site contains hyperlinks to third-party sites (including social media, organizers of events sponsored by the asbl and others) whose terms of use do not fall within the scope of this policy. This means that the asbl can only be held responsible for the processing of data on third-party sites to the extent and under the conditions laid down by law. We therefore invite you to carefully read the personal data protection policies of the third-party companies presented on our site as soon as you access them.

5. When do we transfer your data?

We do not sell or pass on data to third parties. Nevertheless, for certain aspects of our products and services, we collaborate with third parties or use subcontractors. In such cases, these third parties are carefully selected and there is always an agreement between the asbl and the third party in question, in accordance with applicable law.

The not-for-profit association may use suppliers for the following services: domain name registration, authentication and security (e.g. SSL certificate suppliers); e-mail; authentication and cloud connection; site creation and maintenance; teleworking and use of online office suites or electronic fax; marketing and prospecting; market analysis(s); archiving.

In the event that data needs to be transmitted to a supplier established outside the European Union or in the cloud (EU), we take the additional measures necessary to ensure the security of your data in accordance with the applicable regulations.

6. What are your rights regarding the protection of your personal data?

Under current regulations, you have a number of rights concerning the processing of your data, in particular the right: to access the data we collect and process about you; to request that it be corrected and updated; to object to the use of your data for commercial prospecting and direct marketing purposes; and to withdraw the consent you have given us to a request for processing and to request the deletion of data.

To exercise your rights and prevent unauthorized disclosure of your personal data, we generally require proof of your identity.

7. How long do we keep your data?

The asbl stores and processes your data for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes described in point 3.

The storage period therefore varies according to the purpose of the processing. For example, we retain your newsletter registration data for as long as you wish to receive our newsletters. However, in many cases, we are required to retain data for longer after we have provided a service or answered your questions. This is necessary in order to meet our legal obligations (e.g. tax or accounting) or on the basis of other exemptions to the right of deletion that you have on the basis of applicable regulations.
